About
Wallet Wired
What this is
Wallet Wired reports what behavioral research has observed about money decisions. Cognitive biases, emotional spending, money scripts — described, sourced, and left there.
Every article starts from published work: an experiment, a replication, a dataset. Where a finding is contested or has failed replication, that is stated in the article rather than left out. Where a number is popular but unsourced, it does not appear at all.
It is written alongside the YouTube channel of the same name. The video and the article cover the same research and are written from the same fact base, but neither is a transcript of the other.
Why it isn’t advice
Describing a pattern is not the same as telling someone what to do about it. Wallet Wired does not recommend products, allocations, or actions, and no one here is licensed to. Knowing that anchoring exists is useful; being told where to put your money by a website is not.
How it is funded
Display ads, labelled “Advertisement” and chosen by the ad network, not by Wallet Wired. Affiliate links to books, audiobooks, note-taking tools, software and psychology courses, never to banks, brokerages, lenders, card issuers, investing apps, insurers, crypto or tax services.
