01Who we are
Wallet Wired is an independent publication. The site is operated by its author and has no corporate parent, investors, or data partners.
02What is collected
No account is required to read anything here, and there is no login or comment system. If you subscribe to the newsletter, your email address is held by the newsletter service, Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, based in France), and used only to send the letter. Brevo records whether an email was opened and which links were clicked, so the letter can be improved; these statistics are not used for anything else. Every issue has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing stops all further email. The site does not ask for payment details, because there is nothing here to buy.
03Analytics
With your permission, the site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which articles are read. Google Analytics sets cookies (their names start with _ga) that recognise a returning browser. They are set only if you choose Accept in the cookie notice; if you choose Decline, no analytics cookies are set. Google processes this data as described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link at the foot of every page.
04Cookies
The site sets one cookie of its own, ww_consent, which remembers your cookie choice for a year. Google Analytics cookies are set only with your consent (see Analytics above). Affiliate networks reached by clicking an outbound link may set their own; that happens on their domain, under their policy, and only after you click.
05Affiliate links
Some outbound links earn a commission. Which categories are and are not linked is listed in full on the affiliate disclosure page.
06Data retention
Analytics data is kept by Google for 14 months and then deleted. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Nothing else is stored.
07Your rights
Readers in the UK, EU, and California have rights of access, correction, and erasure over personal data held about them. The personal data held is a newsletter subscriber’s email address and, with consent, pseudonymous analytics data held by Google. Either will be returned, corrected or deleted on request.
08Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. Substantive changes are noted at the foot of the page for six months.
